Housing wants a what? (BR)

We're moving in a few months and DH sometimes takes day trips to the new base to take care of business. Today I asked him since he was going to be there anyway if he could go to housing and ask about availability for around the time of our move. I don't have any idea what he told them but he text messaged me "Housing would like a certificate saying you are pregnant."

I'm confused because I didn't think they'd care unless we showed up to pick up our keys with an already born child. I also don't even know what to ask my doctor for. Just a note that says "I"m pregnant"?

Wow. That's weird; I guess a dr.'s note stating that you are indeed PG. Perhaps the are considering the need for a larger housing for you all; but this is definitely a new one on me.

Yeah, I had to have a letter sent from the hospital proving I was pregnant. I think it's used mostly when people who don't rate a bigger house by rank need a bigger house because of a baby. My H rates our house without O, but we still needed the note.

See DH should rate fine for whatever we get as well. I have to get my blood drawn soon anyhow so I'll hop in and ask what they can give me.

I'm all for people getting housing based on their needs if they don't rank but asking for proof that you're pregnant seems a bit much for me and then having to go and get said proof is an add inconvenience.  I'd think having the requestor sign an affidavit that there is an expected child in less than 9 months should be sufficient. 

This also could be easily circumvented if they made pee tests available at the front desk.  Right next to the cup of pens they put out to sign paperwork with.

I had to do the same thing.  Too many people would unfortunately try and screw housing over.

 It's a form they gave me, saying you are pregnant and when the due date is with all your Dr's info on it.

When we applied for housing and I was PG, I had my doctor's office write a note that I had a positive pregnancy test in the office on ____ date.  It was enough for housing but I also showed up with a big belly.

I not only had to have an official letter stating my pregnancy, but also take a pregnancy test upon moving from Tricare overseas to TriSouth or whatever I'm on now so that I could get a new referral to an OB.

Yeah, taking a pregnancy test at 34 weeks pregnant, that was rich.

Haha! Well, you know, it could have just been a basketball under your shirt or something. They need to be sure.

And I find it odd that housing needs proof for just one baby, too. Where we are, you don't get bumped up to a bigger house until you have two kids anyway.
