What do you do with your old clothes?
I'm talking clothes that are too ratty to be donated (jeans with holes in the butt, etc.). The idea of saving them to make a quilt kind of appeals to me, but then there's the issue of storing them until I actually make the quilt, and the reason I'm sorting through them in the first place is to make more storage space. Does anyone know if there's somewhere in the area to recycle fabric? Is there even such a thing as recycling fabric? Any other suggestions would be welcome too. I feel bad just throwing this stuff away if it could be used for something.
Re: What do you do with your old clothes?
Jeans that are too worn to donate can be sent to a place that recycles denim into eco-friendly insulation. Here's more information.
For other things, like ratty t-shirts and the like, I cut them up into rags to use for cleaning.
we have dogs so we re-use as rags to wipe their feet
thanks for the link, cep, I'll be sharing that one!
I've put old clothes into MAC recycling bins- if the clothes are good enough they are passed on- if not, then they're recycled into clothes and such.
