Lurker question - Ikea Kitchen
Hi ladies -- I mostly lurk, but had a question and I thought you might be able to help me out. My husband and I are going to renovate our kitchen and want to use Ikea cabinets. We were just planning on using the contractor they suggest in the store, however, he tried to set up an appt for an estimate today and it sounds like they start to nickle and dime you from the beginning. So my question is, did anyone put in an ikea kitchen and if so, can you recommend your contractor? We've toyed with the idea of doing it ourselves (with some help from friends), however, I think we would drive each other crazy if we did...so we'd rather just pay someone to install.

Our old condo already had Ikea kitchen cabinets in place and they held up really well. We've installed Ikea cabinets in a bathroom and laundry room and ditto pp. They are really, really easy to install.
We did find, once we started really pricing things out, that they got more expensive than we expected. Every little hinge, handle, board and fixture is extra.
