Potty Training Help!
I bought Caroline some Hello Kitty (her fav) underwear and wanted her to try them on to make sure they fit. Her weight for all of the underwear out there is below all of the charts so...
Well, she loves them. She's been hating putting her diapers on for a while. Especially after she uses the potty. Problem is she screamed bloody murder. I mean total hysterics to take them off. She didn't want to go potty b/c that meant she'd have to pull them down. So, I have a kid who loves them which they say is great, but I think she loves them too much! Anyone go through this?

I had a similar problem with Lily. She wanted big girl underwear like her sisters, and training pants didn't work for her, they were too much like diapers. She really really hated being wet ( who wouldn't!), so I told her that Tinkerbell couldn't get wet, that she had to go on the potty and keep her dry. It took a couple days of little accidents but then she did great.
Maybe trying to tell her that she would have to take them off if they got wet would work? Good luck!!
OK, guess we'll start now and really try to go cold turkey starting monday. I have to wait till then since we have a weekend packed with plans
This afternoon we've got nothing though!
I just got the Dappi covers in the mail so that completes what I wanted. They are HUGE. I ordered the Med. 20-25 pounds and figured that would be ok since I didn't see smaller sizes available. Yikes. She's only 22 lbs but has a tiny frame that it seems like everything is falling off of her.
JiJI if you're reading this. How did you find underwear for your LO's tiny bum when he was so young?
We don't have fancy prints...but he would prefer to have underwear. The underwear are huge and I got the smallest size. They do stay up okay, but they're saggy. They'll fit forever, I guess. He knows if he pees in his underwear he has to wear a diaper. He hates wearing diapers and will sometimes throw a fit when the diaper comes out. That might work for C....if you pee in your kitties, they have to go away. Kitties, need to stay dry.
Sometimes, I know he has to go, but is in the middle of something. I know if I ask him to go to the potty, he won't want to go. So, I'll say to him "Look what I found!" and hold up a book (which always grabs him), "Let's read this on the potty". Or I'll say "What book do you want to pick to read on the potty?" or I'll say "Do you want to potty on mommy's potty or your potty?". The choices help him be in control and ultimately he goes potty...so I get what I'm looking for. Maybe it might work to take the focus off of the kitties on the underwear and draw the focus to her making choices?
