Re: If you have a home alarm system...

  • We have brinks but I think they just changed the name. We have it hooked up to emergency response. It costs about $35.

  • we have ADT, it is linked if they dont get in contact with us. I think its around $35-$40 per month

We had one issue while on vacation last year. The alarm went off and they tried my cell. It was 3 am. I had it on vibrate because it was a travel day and family was texting back and forth from their cars and I never turned it back on. So they didnt call anyone else. They just left a message on the home phone. They did not leave a message on my cell. SO until I called home 3 days later to check messages I had no idea any of that happened. We could have been robbed and our alarm system company wouldnt even have told us.

  • We have Guardian. I think it's $40 a month. If we don't respond to an alarm, respond and give an incorrect passcode, or type in a special dummy code, the police are notified. In the later two cases, the alarm is shut off to the house and responds as if we had correctly disarmed it. It's to protect you if someone is in the house with you and forcing you to disarm it.

We also have a heat detector and a smoke detector hooked up to it that will notify the fire department if we don't respond.

Our key pad also has buttons on it to indicate to call the fire dept and police immediately.

  • We have ADT (my parents have had it for ages also).

We've always been really happy if one of us doesn't answer the cell they call the other (we had construction dust in our fire alarm) and send the police when necessary.

We have the regular alarm w/ CO2 and Fire Protection.
