Going to Boston for Leo today....what is the appt with the ENT like?
Do they just take a peek at his ears and make suggestions? He's had double ear infections for almost six weeks and after 4 rounds of diff antibotics, still has them. I want to get this FIXED. I am ok with him getting tubes, I just want it done fast. If your child's ENT said yes, tubes are necessary, how long did you have to wait to put them in?
Poor bebe.
No thanks, I don't need child porn or Tweets from this site---thanks for the memories nesties---RIP, Franco---2004--2012.

i have never been to an ent with my kids. but i know when i was sick with bad sterp a few years ago. (trip to the er/urgent care and my dr) he put me on a different medication and it cleared up like that. so he may know the right combo of medicine to help him clear it up since tahts his specialty.

I think there are a few criteria-I know one is X number of infections in X amount of time. Scarlett was WAY over that amount (she had 8 ear infections in 5 months) so he recommended tubes pretty quickly. The clincher for us was that he said she probably fetl like she was on a plane with that awful pressure but that she could never get a relief from the pressure. We felt so bad she was feeling that way. He also said it would probably interfere with her hearing, if it hadn't started to already.
The time was short in between the consultation and surgery-it was based on both of our availabilities, but obviously we made ourselves available. We did it pretty quickly after the consultation b/c we would have had to cancel if she got another ear infection or was sick for the day of the surgery. We had hers done right before Thanksgiving on 2010 and she's only had two ear infection since, which was easily cleared up by drops in her ear. Before the tubes she was miserable with each infection-fever of 103, cranky, just seemed to be in pain, had to have the antibiotics which always killed her stomach, and the infections she got post-tubes she was cranky but not nearly to the level of pre-tubes and it just took some drops in her ear to get rid of it.
