Just trying to spice things up.. anyone have sensitive teeth?
Yes, I realize this makes me about 80 years old.
I have two teeth on the side top that have recently become really sensitive when I eat cold stuff. I think I need to start using special toothpaste. Anyone have any recomendations?
Re: Just trying to spice things up.. anyone have sensitive teeth?
Yup! I have no enamel from an eating disorder as a teenager. I use prescription toothpaste, works wonders and is not expensive.
I was expecting the Sensodyne recomendation, which is probably what I'll end up getting. Did you find that it helped a lot? How long did it take? I want ice cream!
workerbee82 - where do you find this Closys? And just how expensive is it?
I was reading online last night (after a bad run in with a frozen chocolate covered strawberry) that you should rub a little bit of the toothpaste on your sensitive teeth before you go to bed at night, and that helps.. anyone do this?
Sometimes i can find the rinse at Target, depending on which Target i'm at. i have to buy the toothpaste $15 a tube from my dentist's office. my insurance usually ends up covering it, but not without a battle, every time. I did use Sensodyne for a long time but had to step it up. And, it takes a couple weeks for the effectiveness to build up with both sensodyne and closys.
when i use the rinse i do not rinse it out afterward. i brush with the toothpaste, floss, drink my water, then rinse with the rinse.
Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I have had some cold sensetivity randomly here and there for awhile, but last night it was like yowwwwzers... and for like 10 minutes after that it was still sensitive feeling, which freaked me out. But, I have the tendency to panic.
Bahaha, I thought I was funny....
....although, this post is getting more action than most lately!
It's always the random posts that do these days...we need some scandal!

I didn't until I got pregnant. My teeth have never been the same. My dentist gave me some special Collgate that seemed to help. I also brush with warm water now.
Yep, like Haven, I have to brush with warm-ish water and use a softer toothbrush. This kills me because I don't feel like my teeth are clean unless I have really scrubbed all of the stuff off (i.e. a hard toothbrush and cold water...I have NO idea why I have sensitive teeth :-) ). I did switch to an electric toothbrush and that helped my phobia some.
I just use whichever sensitive toothpaste is cheaper - usually Colgate, I think. That's really all I have to do. At one point, I thought I was "cured" and switched back to regular toothpaste - that was a mistake! Haha!
