Pediatrician Recommendations...
I live in NW Omaha 90th & Fort area. Any recommendations for that area? Also do you meet with them prior to giving birth or after when your child needs to see them? I am at a complete loss with this part.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Pediatrician Recommendations...
I don't live in that area, but I would certainly meet them ahead of time. You ask them questions to make sure their philosophies jive with yours. Are wanting a doctor who is very supportive of breastfeeding, an alternative vaccine schedule, attachment parenting, etc? Are they open when you need them (Saturdays). Do they have a lab in the office or do they need to send samples out (which can add a day to finding out blood results). How long is the average wait time? Also, make sure they have privileges at the hospital you will give birth at.
Here is a nice sheet to take with you: http://assets.babycenter.com/ims/Content/first-year-health-guide_doctor_interview.pdf
We see Dr Kaufman at the Childrens Physicians in Eagle Run.
Here's a link I bookmarked from recs girls on here posted a while back:

Thank you for the above link. I will certainly check that. Thanks for all the responses!
We see Dr. Heather Zimmerman at Boystown on Pacific St. I absolutely adore her! She is very progressive and keeps up on research (i.e. she was a strong advocate of extended rear-facing in a carseat before it was more mainstream.
Our original pedi was more laid-back and I will always wonder if that had any effect on my son's clubfoot. My son was slow to talk and was right on top of it. She also has called me on her day off to give me lab results. Love her!!
