Chinese-inspired dessert?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a Chinese-inspired dessert recipe? We're making a Chinese meal for friends this weekend, and we always get stuck on desserts, because desserts just aren't that big in Taiwan (where my husband is from). But... it would still be fun to prepare a dessert with a Chinese influence...
I've done a bit of googling, but curious whether anyone here has some suggestions.
It doesn't need to be anything elegant, and unfortunately, due to our schedule, it has to be fairly quick to prepare... i.e. no time for folding home-made fortune cookies

Here is a recipe for Tong Sui (a Chinese dessert soup with coconut milk and tapioca). It's really good! Sorry I can't make it clicky, I'm on my iPad.
I'm from Taiwan as well! Here are some ideas you could consider.
Sweet mung bean popsicles
Red bean soup
Sweet red bean rice ballsAlmond tofu
Chinese almond cookies"Like" me on Facebook
how about a dessert drink? like a lychee inspired martini or wine?
oranges slices are also chinese
These are all great ideas, thank you! I'm especially excited about the Tong sui and red bean soup... I LOVED that red bean soup when I lived in Taiwan, and I've never thought to try making it myself!
I was also thinking that lychee martinis might be fun (and delicious!)
Thanks again!
