Found Female Boxer/American Bulldog/Pittie mixNeeds Help!

My parents fished this pretty girl out of their pool yesterday,  near TC Jester and 610 (in the Timbergrove/Lazy Brook neighborhood)  No collar, no tags but she seems to be well fed and reasonably well cared for.

No idea how she got in there but she clearly is not a swimmer.  Her back claws were torn up from trying to climb out but otherwise she appears to be in good health.  She's extremely skittish and shy (and seems to be scared of men) so they haven't been able to handle her much.  They were going to take her to their vet to see if she's chipped, but couldn't catch her and get her in the car.  She is living in their backyard for the time being.

Anyway, my folks can't keep her but don't want to take her to the pound obviously, so any help finding her people, or a new home would be much appreciated.

My big boy is bounding towards 3! Hoping to add a sibling. image Hipster dog is not impressed.

Re: Found Female Boxer/American Bulldog/Pittie mixNeeds Help!

  • Poor baby! That is so weird, I was at the vet office yesterday and a lady walked in and said she wanted to check on a pug that had fallen into her pool... it wasn't her dog, but she rescued it from her pool and brought it in for treatment. Sounded like he was having a pretty bad time.

I hope they are able to get her to calm down so they can get her to the vet. If not, animal control may be their only choice... hopefully she has a microchip and they can find the owner. But I wouldn't wait too long, she probably needs to be checked out after her ordeal.

    Good luck!

  • I think she has A LOT of Shar Pei in her. I'd contact the Pei rescue!

    She's cute!

Good Guess!  I found a lost dog posting (for a Boxer Shar Pei mix!) on Craigslist that appears to be her.  My folks have emailed the poster so hopefully she'll be going home soon.  Big Smile

    awesome!

I would have never known that before having R. He's part Pei and I could really tell once I started looking real Peis.

Her knees, eyes, and ears really gave it away =)

I thought of R when I saw the picture. The eyes and ears give it away for sure!

Also, the shelter in Montgomery County has a black lab/shar pei mix that is a feisty little guy!
