Did you ever get your garbage disposal fixed?
I think I mentioned below that I was having the same problem... I was able to FIX it this morning! Yippeee!
First, I hit the reset button, and it started humming. Then, I used a wrench to move around the screw on the bottom. Then, I banged around in there (through the drain hole) with a broomstick handle. It turns out that there was a piece of brillo pad stuck inside.
Anyway, you might want to give a try to fixing it. I was able to save at least $250 (new disposal+installation)!
Re: KtotheJ
YES!
I found that emergency wrench thing and moved it around a bit - hit the reset button - nothing.
THEN I tried it again and HELD DOWN the reset button (for like a minute - it did not say to hold it down in the manual) and VOILA! It started working again!!
I'm impressed that you fixed yours - I would have been chicken to stick a broom handle down there!
Thanks for thinking of me!
i actually came on today because i was wondering the same thing (i was playing with mine the other day and it made me think of it)
