Need ideas for party - with kids

We're having our annual "Winter-cue" (winter bbq) this weekend and there's about 15 kids coming. While in past years most of them were babies - now they're all pretty mobile (ranging in age from 2 to 6)

Please help with some ideas to keep them entertained while us adults drink. :)

I already have:

Coloring books/crayons
Play-Doh (Although I'm hesitant to even bring that out)
Trains/and some Toys
Wii (for bowling and Dance Party)

Is there anything else I could do? We had actually considered a bouncy house but I think some of them are too young - could be disastrous!

Re: Need ideas for party - with kids

  • Do you have tents?  When I was a nanny that was my favorite rainy day go-to.  You can make it like an indoor picnic for them.
  • raid the dollar spot at Target!  blocks, puzzles, small games...

I think you have plenty already, especially with Wii.

  • I went to a party on Saturday and they had crafts. Michael sells tubs of foam animals, princess, letters, etc. You peel the back and stick them on foam paper. The foam paper is also sold at michaels (and the back peals off of that too). It kept the kids entertained for hours. Everyone loved it. I thought it was a great idea.
**the new version of the nest ate my pictures and I can't get them back again***
