60th birthday ideas
My mil is turning 60 in May. We don't want to do a party. She likes gambling going to Parx in Pa, and goes to AC often. She also loves LBI. They stay all the time in AC for an overnight, actually she is going this weekend. She isn't into spas. She also isn't into fancy meals.

I'd love to do a nice dinner. She doesn't like to have fancy dinners. They have a house in LBI. (Its rented for the winter)

How about a play or concert? Or a trip to a museum or art gallery? And go out for a casual dinner, like burgers or Mexican or something.
How about upgrading her room in AC as a gift? Or hire a car service to get her down there. Have a nice gift basket sent to her room.
Make a photo album on MPix or Shutterfly with some old family photos. Or get her a gift certificate for a photo session with the whole family (or do one with everyone, put it on canvas and present it to her).
For my grandma's 90th birthday, my mom had an artistic friend draw a tree (no leaves, just branches) on a large piece of cardstock. She sent it around to everyone in the family along with an inkpad, and we all put our thumbprint on a branch and wrote our names and birthdays by our thumbprints. Once everyone signed it, she had it nicely framed. I thought that was cute.
The cruise idea is cool, except that she will be leaving shortly after her birthday to go on a cruise with her sister. I'd love to do a formal family portrait, but she doesn't even like that stuff. She still never ordered any pictures from our wedding.
The car service to ac might be an idea.
