Help my kid not stink (warning a bit gross)

Woke up yesterday to find S playing in his crib covered in vomit. So, so gross. He never cried. He must have thrown up and gone back to sleep.

I immediately bathed him and washed his hair twice. Kept him home though he never did it again and had no fever, etc.

His hair still smelled like vomit, though slightly lavender scented vomit.

So I gave him ANOTHER bath and washed his hair with his brother's shampoo.

He still smelled like vomit.  Though now its Mango scented vomit.

So I gave his ANOTHER bath before bed and washed his hair. HE STILL SMELLS.

How the hell do I make my baby smell nice again? Any ideas?

Liz

  • tomato juice? i really don't know, i would think baking soda would work, just mix it with warm water first and then pour it over his head? good luck!

  • Check all little crevices - it might be behind his ear or something or in a fold under his neck

So gross. I swear I smell vomit for days on my kids but my husband thinks I'm crazy

  • Is white vinegar safe to use?  That de-stinks everything.  Then you can re wash him with regular soap and shampoo.

It's definitely his hair.  He smells like a nice sweet baby and then you give him a kiss on his head and have to put him down cause he smells so bad and you don't want to lose lunch. And FYI Mango scented vomit is way worse then straight up vomit.

You can totally use white vinegar.  My son gets vinegar baths because of his eczema. He smells like a pickle. lol

  • I am so sorry but this post is HYSTERICAL. I would check in his ear, and then I would do the vinager thing. And if that doesn't work, I'd mix some tomato juice with water. And if that doesnt work I'd shave his head.
