Baby diagnosed w/ Diaphragmatic hernia
She is being rushed to NYC for surgery, once they can stabilize her breathing for transport. Please keep praying.
ETA: Sorry, typed that so fast.. here's a recap. My cousin was scheduled for a c-section next week but yesterday they discovered a mass on the baby's lung (CCAM) taking up about half of one side of her chest cavity. They did an emergency c-section this morning and the baby quickly started having labored breathing. The surgery is too much for the hospital she is currently at so they are sending her to Columbia once her breathing is stabilized.

Who? Sorry if i missed something...
My BFFs SIL is dealing with this right now. She is due in a few weeks and will be delivering at Hopkins, I believe.
Big prayers to whomever you are refering.
*always remembering Annaleigh Lucy*
Yes - she is there now and is in stable condition, breathing only by the help of breathing tubes. They are waiting for a "team of doctors to work on her" and then they'll do the surgery.. she can go back to Valley once surgery is over and she is stabilized. My cousin is still here.. I cannot imagine being seperated from my newborn especially in a situation like this.. but I've also heard wonderful things about that hospital and am feeling comfortable that she is there.

Thanks Monica.. my cousin is the one you and I were emailing with..
And thank you all for the positive stories.... it really does make me feel like this is something she can pull through.. when you don't know anything about a condition you really feel helpless and insecure..
My mom just texted me that they will not operate until Saturday after monitoring her and then will be at Columbia for the next 4-6 weeks.
I can't even imagine! Continued thoughts & prayers for your cousin & baby!
