Gary you were always my favorite!
Re: RIP...the Kid has died.
I just heard too. Such a sad story. He was a good guy. No one deserves to suffer through a horrible disease like that at such a young age.
A remember my dad said he was so sad when Tommy Agee died because its a guy from the team you loved as a kid. Now I know what he meant.
Lets hope Gary smiles down on the Mets this season.
I am so sad- He was my favorite Met of all time! I loved him!
ETA- Now, Mets please have a winning season to make him proud!

Gary Carter, Hall of Fame Catcher for the Expos and Mets...was on the Mets in the mid-late 80's...was a genuinely good guy that cared about the game, his team, and his fans.

He spent five summers in New York; five of his 19. He played them with the joy of a boy in a sprinkler on the hottest day of August, like it was the first game he?d ever played, or like he was the only one who knew it would be the last.
