Ernie update!

Baby kitteh is coming home!! Either tonight or tomorrow.

When we first took him to the hospital his albumin was 0.5 (lowest normal is 2.5). He had one plasma transfusion that brought it to 0.8. Well, overnight his liver made it's OWN albumin and brought it up to 1.2! Party!!! He just finished getting a tranfusion of PURE albumin, which should bring his level into a normal range.. then his liver can just maintain it instead of struggling to catch up ground.

He *does* have to keep his E-tube in for a week or two. I'm scared of it, but I suppose it's better to just stick food directly into him rather than force feed him with syringes. He had to get the tube because he's fighting the syringe feedings too much (screaming/biting/running, etc)... and still not eating on his own. But we anticipate when he's home and less scared he will probably want to start eating soon.

First time the vet has said it, "He's going to make it." Party!!!
