Hows it goin today?!!
Coopers good, he was just rolling around on his back in the living room, I think I also saw him use his left leg to scratch behind his ear!

He even let me ice the inside of his knee for almost 20minutes this afternoon!!

Re: **wypadek**

  • hold the phones!! He let you ice?! Nice!! What did you bribe him with?

Ziva's doing really good. She was THRILLED that there was no cone today and that she was allowed to play with Collins and go up the stairs when I ran up to the nursery to get a doll.

I did misunderstand the vet though and can't take Ziva for a walk yet Sad DH called them because he remembered differently and he was right.... we can call them back in two weeks to discuss again. I'm super bummed.

She does keep coming over to say hi though so she's a happy puppers. I think she wants up on the couch though...

  • Haha I KNOW!! & he did so voluntarily!!! He was laying in our kitchen in the sun (which Im sure helped his tolerance level) on his left side so I could get at the inside of his knee, I sat on the floor next to him & petted him for the entire 20 minute ice session....he tried to get up a couple times, so I had to yell at him...& he actually stayed put (miracle!)!

Haha, aw! I bet she was SO happy to be cone-free!!

What?! Wtf. How crazy... For real our Vet has so the opposite belief. Her belief is to get the joint moving again asap. Its the same w/humans. Ask anyone who's had their ACL done & they'll tell you within hrs of having the surgery they were hooked up to a CPM machine (you put your leg in this machine & it moves it for you...youtube it for a visual, I can't explain it well right now).... But,that Suuuucks though!!! Seriously, within 3 days of Coopers surgery we were atleast walking down the block (slowly)

Aw. Thats so sweet! Breaks your heart doesn't it! Can't YH just pick her up & put her on the couch??? Big Smile

Well...here's what Coopers been doing the last hr while I've been cleaning: 1st, he was laying on the LR floor. Then he moved onto his bed in the LR. Then I started vacuuming, so he got up & went to the basement stairs, but once he saw that I had them blocked w/a baby gate, he went over to our bedroom door (which was partially open) & was debating going into our room to jump on our bed before I busted him. So then he went back into the LR & jumped up on "his" loveseat. Then after about 5 minutes, he got off the loveseat, & just happened to turn at the right time while vacuuming in time to catch his tail-end going into our room! By the time I turned off the vac, he was already up on our bed!! I made him get down & he went & jumped back up on his loveseat.

He's been SOOO weird tonight! He's not usually a velcro dog, at.ALL! But tonight he's like all over me! I think he's really tired. I was home at noon, & then ran errands till five, then we were outside picking up the yard (on leash of course) for like 45 min, then we went for a walk. I got done cleaning & am finally relaxing on the couch, & of course, he immediately joined me Big Smile. Im icing him again (not on the inside though where I wanna be!), so its a productive spoil! Lol

  • restless puppers!!! Maybe he's missing YH and has decided that since he's not there YOU MUCH NOT LEAVE! Or has decided that since you're icing him he gets to be velcro-y and on the bed.

I was surprised by the no walk thing too. I've had four knee surgeries and my brother has had 7. They're usually so much into getting the knee moving! Granted we both had surgeries of "absolutely no weigh bearing for 6 weeks!" those suck but this isn't one! Oh well.... I told DH that we'll just have to do other things for her while we walk Collins.

DH did help her onto the couch and now she's snoring.... little fart. Except I hope she doesn't fart cuz I have the butt end....

  • Ha! I'd like to think so...but in reality, its prolly just b/c he's spoiled! Lol!

Oh he's happy as a clam now snoozin away next to me on the couch! Spoiled rotten lil brat :P

Yes! I know! Its just weird (well, IMO its weird to me that btw you & your bro & your 11 surgeries they didn't have you moving around sooner...but thats off topic Lol) Yes, you do just have to find other ways to occupy her while you wear out C!! (GL w/that btw! Lol)

     HA!!!!!!! SUCKERS!! Lol!

Oh man, I ALWAYS have the butt end!! Whats up w/that?!! Lol

  • Oh the knee surgeries in my family are.... nuts.... 15 in my fam not including the Ziva.

And thanks. I took her to doggie daycare yesterday and she tried to go again today.... But I pretty much love that place. C & Z are staff favorites.

I have a short day at work tomorrow (have to take a licensing test in the afternoon, ugh!) so I'll be home early, maybe C and I will go on a walk, on the OTHER side of the street. This means she'll walk 2-3x farther than me and her nose will be to the ground the WHOLE TIME.

What's with dogs thinking we want the butt? I want the fuzzy ears!!

  • So crazy! Bad knee genes! Lol

Aw..of course they're staff faves! Such a compliment to you ya know :)

HA! Oh I hear that!! Makes walks frickin impossible! Tonight Cooper pawed up some poop in a snowbank & got a bite of it Sad & here I am feeling bad for him & his "bum" leg so I was letting him have a little bit of freedom on leash on our walks....After he did that though I was like "you are Done!" & made him heel the rest of the time....So mean!

HA! SO true! & I know! Me too!!

  • Oh the poo eating..... Collins and Ziva both find that to be a delicacy... annoying dogs. When spring comes along we have to worry about the toads too.... They make them foam at the mouth but Collins doesn't care. There's lots of prying of toads out of the shorthair's mouth during the summer....

Ziva is gonna be SO MAD at me today....
