Two of the "tame ferals" that are at the humane society have URIs. The humane society has agreed to let them be fostered if I can find someone to do it. They said they can go to houses that already have cats as long as they are kept in a room to themselves. My vet said absolutely, 100% don't do that because it is contagious and they should go to homes with no other cats just to be safe.
Thoughts? I obviously tend to agree with the vet, I just wanted to know what y'all thought.

Re: Kellbell and other cat people...
I'm probably not the best person to answer this, but as much as I want to help I have to put my own pets first.
What happens with the cats if they can't find a foster?
No, I totally get the putting your pets first, I just don't know who is accurate. The person at the humane society who told me it was okay had apparently worked there for years, but isn't a vet, you know? And I trust my vet, I just didn't know if he was being over cautious, or if he was correct.
They can stay at the shelter if necessary, they just think they'll get well faster and adapt better if they're in a foster situation.

5 cats. 1 baby.
This is basically what the humane society said. I still can't bring them home with me, but I just wanted to make sure they'd be okay with someone else's cat. I don't want to get anyone else's pets sick.
Their case is also really mild right now. Their secretions are still clear, so they haven't even been started on an antibiotic yet. That's why they want to get them into foster care, in hopes that it will shorten the course of the illness.
Thanks!

First a URI is most often mild. Second, you would keep a foster cat separate from resident cats anyway, so the chance of transmission is pretty small.
Good luck finding them a foster home!
Thanks! That makes sense.
Fingers crossed that I can find some fosters soon.
