Do you think people you know lurk here?
Re: Do you think people you know lurk here?
I lurk here but don't know any of you irl as far as I know. I occasionally post on GP and very rarely comment on a post on TIP. I've been lurking TIP for three years and GP for 2 years. I started lurking here when you all moved from the carribean or wherever. If you want to know why I lurk and don't join in it's because I think of these boards as more of a television show in that I watch what happens and watch people's stories play out. I guess I'm kind of shy in person too. I tend to stand back and listen more than jump in.

Oh, and I post shiit all the time that no one cares about or comments on. If I let that stop me, I'd have been able to give up my nest addiction a long time ago.

I almost did, but I didnt really have anything to say. I love run keeper and have never had problems with it like that. Intriguing huh?
I have been lurking since the whole Chop/Proud/Elfstergate thing went down.
I think my lack of posting all the time comes from not worrying so much about people not replying as I'm busy or I feel like I don't have anything to contribute or if I do have something to contribute I'm afraid it would come off as a snarky wannabe. Some of you are rough on newbies. I think that's changed though.
Hello
Anthony.
(I'm sure he doesn't check every day, but at the rate he used to stalk my FB, I'm sure he's looked this up a few times)

LTL (long-time lurker) here- but I promise I'm not creepy. I started on looking on my local board in 2008 when I got engaged, and one day clicked over to SB, I think recently after they renamed it. I juuuust missed Elfstergate. So yes, I went island hoppin to the Caribbean with you, mon.
What has kept me around is the great conversation- I was in law school when I was engaged, it was nice to see work-life balance discussed, trashy celeb gossip, hobbies, crafts, fashion, etc. I just got in a habit of reading the knot/nest at the end of my workday (4pm on), and didn't wan't to feel like a weirdo just randomly adding a thought to the end of every thread.
Andplusalso, I think HT was joining the club around then. She pretty much has the market on awesome/funny/relatable sort-of-newish lawyer, so not sure I can compete!
I bet more people than you think check in at night at least. We need some more evenig action here.

Another long-time lurker, although I have posted a few times here an there in the past. I started in 2007 when I was planning my wedding and got hooked during one NEY/AFB battle.
For a while I worked at a desk job that was really boring, so I read (and eventually posted here and there). Then I started teaching, so I just don't really have time to respond during the day. By the time I read it, it is like now, when the conversation is no longer relevant. I also suffer from not feeling witty/funny enough to contribute.
I've thought about posting on WeWa posts as I have been doing it for a while and have been pretty successful (-80 lbs, helllll yeah!)
I will happily amuse you in the evening anytime :-)

thanks!! now I just need to move past the lack of motivation, because I'm feeling pretty good, but still about 15-20 lbs from goal.
You gave me some good book recs
I'm here checking in every night while we watch tv. But it always seems like no one else is here.
I check in here in the evenings as well. We should all chat and stuff.
I promise to post tonight as I'm watching Breaking Dawn (if I get done with my work early enough), as I'm sure I will want to share my horror an self-loathing with everyone.
I remember Kay+Emm too.
I am about to take a nap, but I will get back up around 12:30 (CST) for a couple of hours to hang out with Kevin when he gets home. Stupid opposite schedules.

I'm halfway done with work. There's a bottle of wine calling to me from the kitchen. It better not be the suck either.
I've posted some over the years with a couple or so different screen names. I usually only post if I really have something unique to add to a topic, or if I've had enough wine/bourbon/beer/vodka/etc. I am a bit of an introvert and like a PP said, this is like a watching a reality show. Over the years I have benefited from the wealth of product recs, recipes, etc. and I love the drama, when it happens. So, thanks for the entertainment and recs! I'm also a bit lazy when it comes to social media, so I've never been into investing the time it takes to 'integrate'.
In short, I love you guys, from afar, across the smokey internets.
