moms help! what can I do for him?

Mikey went to bed last night and he was fussy al night- restless all night- he has an annoying cough- but it is not really keeping him awake. This morning he woke up burning up and couldn't go back to sleep, even after advil- he barely napped today, passed out on the floor for about 40 minutes at 6, then went to sleep at about 745. He again was restless, now about 20 minutes ago he woke up crying I have him here with me, laying on me, and he is restless, and miserable. He took advil at 630 ish- so he is not due again- He has tubes so I don't think it is his ear, since he would have drainage and he has none, he barely ate all day, but did drink but is not asking for food-

HELP!

  • i'd alternate advil and tylenol every 3 hours.

Have you looked in his throat?  Strep is going around - my whole family were on abx last week for it.  I'd call the doc in the morning.

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • E had a similar thing- 104 fever fri-mon, wasn't hungry, etc. He was tested for strep and it was negative. But he did have a sore throat. I just gave him OTC stuff and waited it out. It sucked for 4 days though. Good luck! Hope he gets better soon!!
  • yeah..I'd say strep, but obviously you need to have it tested.  Hope he feels better!!!!!!!!!!
  • ugh- I thought babies couldn't or rarely get strep? I guess it is off to the doctor later- :(  he is miserable- Even thomas the train on tv is not making him happy and that is like my one thing to get him to sit for 10 minutes- :(

Olivia got strep a couple of weeks ago...and she's only turning 1 tomorrow. The Pediatrician was shocked that she got it...for some reason the strep virus that is going around is tough this year. All three of us had it. I will say she was better within a couple of hours after taking the first dose of antibiotic. Hope he feels better soon.
