I listed a Summer Infant Video monitor last weekend. It sold and the buyer recvd it a few days ago.
I got an email last night saying they want to return it. Here's my problem(s):
1. My auction clearly states no returns
2. The item was a refurb direct from Summer but it was "new in box." that was a big selling point. Now that it's been opened, if I try to resell, I don't have that option and will probably get less for it.
3. I've gotten a few refurbs from Summer and I've NEVER had them not work. The buyer is saying that it's too dark at night and can't see the baby.
(sorry hit Post too soon.)
4. Obviously there's a chance that the buyer broke it and I don't want to have to refund if it was in working condition when they recv'd it. By the same token the buyer may be telling the truth.
Wwyd? Refund and try to resell? Not take it back? I have 100% positive feedback and don't want to ruin it.
Re: If you sell a lot on eBay, please come in
Not under warranty. It was a replacement of another refurb and I've had it a while. Refurbs are only under warranty for 6 months. I bought a newer monitor and just got around to selling this one.
My only question would be if you advertised it as a newly refurbished in a box, or just new in box?
Normally I'd stick with "no returns" but if the person is being nice and not a jerk about it.. I would be tempted to switch it out for them especially if you weren't 100% clear about it being refurbished.
I stated that it was refurbished but "new/never opened" in the box
