Is it going around?

This morning my fiance's 5yo daughter woke up to ther left eye swollen, reddish and kind of crusty...

Anyone with kiddos heard or seen anything?

I think in the winter months, it's almost always going around.  It's (usually) just a regular virus that gets introducted to the eye and therefore aggitates it, I think.  If it's bacterial, then the antibiotic drops will help, but if it's viral, then you just have to wait it out a few days and then when symptoms are gone, you can be around people again.

There was an outbreak of it in DS' school this week.  I think it commonly goes around during cold season and it can spread quickly in daycare or school once one kid gets it.

I think it's one of those things that is always going around.    My DS had it last week and I came down with it on Monday.  It sucks.   Make sure you wash your hands a lot!!   And try to avoid touching your own eyes to help prevent you getting it.

Mona's had it this week also, along with a bad cold and ear infection.
