TurboTax refund processing fee

has there always been a $29.95 processing fee in addtition to the purchase of the product?  I'm paying $96.85 for fees and processing and I don't remember it being that high before.

Why do you need to purchase it? We do it online and yes, it's always been $29.95 for more than a simple return (those are free).

I've never noticed a fee before...which version did you buy? We get the combined state/federal and it should be free to process both. If you need another state then yes, it's $29.95 for the additional state.

wait, so they're charging me $30 to take the other $66 out of my refund for me?  huh?  does that make sense?

It doesn't make sense but yes, that's what they do. It's absurd that they would pretty much double the fee for deducting it from your refund but they do. I'm not sure if they've always done that, I don't think they have but that definitely was the case last year.

The processing fee is because you chose to have your fees deducted directly from your refund.   I didn't realize it at first either otherwise I would of used my cc to pay.  Sucks and definatly doesn't help you get your money any faster!

thankfully, after reading what i posted, i backed up and paid the $60 fees with my card and saved $30.  what a crock! thanks for your help everybody!
