For those who love "creative" names...

I have a new one for you. A friend had a student at the beginning of the school year whose name was pronounced "Abacade". It was spelled "Abcde."  Super Angry ETA: Oops, I posted and ran and didn't realize I used the wrong emoticon! I meant: Hmm

  • That's just wrong. Someone at the SS office or birth certificate office should send them a letter saying, try again.

  • One of my co-worker's kid's goes to elementary school with a girl named Abcde.  It's pronounced Ab-sid-ee.  Crazy!

  • Any chance this is the same kid?  I shudder to think there are 2 sets of parents in one metro area who chose this name.

    I hope so!

On a side note, does this remind anyone else of when snuffaluffagus (sp?) on Sesame Street thought abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz was a word?

Yup, we have one here too. She is (or maybe was, maybe she moved to Denver Smile) a patient at our clinic and the poor kid is probably about 4 now. Mom would always get real pissy when asked how to spell the name
