Taking this off Pioneer Woman (which has voting open on this matter in her Entertainment section if you are also inclined to vote there). I was astonished that there were several people commenting how they just LOVED Pretty Woman and it was so superior to WHMS. Wha-huh? And some posted about how they couldn't stand WHMS and it was boring. You have got to KIDDING me. Now WHMS happens to be my favorite movie. Period. (sorry, Thin Man, I do love you too but still.) It factored into DH's proposal to me. So curious how voting would go here if you had to choose. [Poll]

I love them both, but WHMS is funnier to me, so I'd choose that. Also a bit less schmarmy and more regular guy.
ETA: I'd put Philadelphia Story above both, though
I like both too, but WHMS is better and is sorta "our" movie.

Ummm WHMS is one of the best, if not the best, movie on the planet. DH and I even considered using the speech he gives her at the end ("I love the fact that you get cold when it's 72 degrees out, I love the fact that it takes you an hour to order a sandwich...") as a reading at our wedding.
We also went to Katz's Deli this summer in NYC (where the orgasm scene was filmed) purely so I could get my picture taken there.
Pretty Woman is good, but nowhere near WHMS!
