Read any good books lately?

I've always gotten the best book club recommendations from Nesties (Tender Bar, Glass Castle, Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven), so thought I check here again.  Read any good books lately?

Thanks!

Re: Read any good books lately?

  • Half Broke Horses was really good; it's by the same author as the Glass Castle.

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

  • The 19th Wife (the historical fiction one) by David Ebershoff might be a good book club book. It would definitely be a conversation starter.

For a recent personal fav that I enjoyed was Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen(or any by her, they are great chick-lit but not too ditzy)

Feel free to click on my goodreads below for the history of what I've read.

  • I am just finishing "Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother," and it's really good.  It's heartbreaking at the same time that it shows the love of women in China who gave their daughters up for adoption.  I've really enjoyed it.

Are you united with the CCOKCs?

  • I read "The Moment" a few weeks ago, it was surprisingly awesome. I found it at Costco. It's set in Cold War Berlin which was fascinating to read about.

  • The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern (I think) was good. Started a little slowly, but had amazing imagery and a cool story.

  • I just started reading Baby Proof by Emily Giffin. (Also wrote Something Borrowed which became a movie) I'm about 3/4 the way through and absolutely love it. Also I feel anything by James Patterson is typically a good read. : )
