I won an award at work and I get to either choose a cash prize or a trip to one of 4 locations for 7 days (to a set limit). The disadvantage of the cash prize is that I would lose close to 50% in tax (by time I pay to Oz and US govt), but I could do with it what I want. I think London is to far (24 one way fly and layover time) and the US is to, but if they let me tag on leave I can visit family. So which would you choose flying from Oz?
Oh, and if we pay the difference DH might be able to come.

Yeah that was my concern, but it's close and cheap once your there, I think I could get DHs ticket and a nice hotel in for the limit they've allowed (and maybe have a GTG with a certain nestie..).
Emily the cash would only be enough to take a local short break, and they wouldn't throw in the time off of 7 days like they are for the other options (so really its worth more than the cash).
It's nice to have this sort of "problem" though
Jetstar flies nonstop to Tokyo, so your H could get a cheaper flight. Have you been to Japan yet? You could easily spend a week in Tokyo and surrounding areas.
But, I also like SE Asia (KL plus an air asia flight elsewhere). When would you be going?
