Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. if you love your convection oven

tell me about what you make in it & how you use it!

do you use it for everything you normally make in the regular oven or just certain things? any good website for info on recipes or conversions? I keep hearing about it for meat but does anyone do anythign else w/ it?

  • We have a micro/convection combo and I've never used it bc I have no idea what to do so I'm looking forward to hopefully some good tips!

    well, i had some frozen sweet potato fries & instructions said 18-22 min @425 adn I did them @375 in the convection and thought maybe if I could cook them in 10-12 min that would be awesome. They were done about 22 min later. LOL.

    But I do always hear great things about meat, b/c it is quick, it turns out much juicier.  

  • We went to buy a new oven a couple months back.  I was seriously considering the spending the extra dough for a convection until the salesman asked me if I bake a lot.  I do not so he said it probably wouldn't be worth it.  So, we just got a regular gas range.

  • I love my convection oven.  You put it on the same temperature you would otherwise and it cooks 1/3 of the time faster.  I cook meat on convection, potatoes (ALWAYS), veggies, etc.  I never bake with convection though, just cooking.  It saves so much time.

    When you say 1/3 of the time faster, do you mean 1/3 less time or 1/3 of the time. E.g if it normally cooks for 30 minutes, does it cook in 10 or 20?
