Treat/Food Agression help?
This is a relatively recent problem: Gloria has gotten possessive of treats. I think it started with her most recent training class.
She would be mostly polite when she went to other owners and begged for treats during a socialization, offleash time, but if any other dogs came to me to get pets or treats, she'd herd them away and snarl at them. She started a couple of fights that way. At first I thought it was just other dogs, but today she snapped twice at guests of ours over treats or dropped people food. Each time we took her away, the second time putting her in her crate (the first time we put her in a separate room but she prompty opened the door).
What should I be doing? This is a completely new problem for us, she's never been any kind of food agressive before and it's only for treats, she's not possessive of her kibble.
Aside from this new food agression issue, she was a complete angel, I could really see an improvement in her behavior towards guests as a result of all of the training tips and the NILIF we've learned from this board.
