F/U to we are crazy... considering moving
Looks like we are planning to put our house on the market after the baby comes.
THIS IS NUTS.
But we just can't stop thinking about this other house and the potential. It hasn't received any offers yet, likely because of the amount of work needed, so our realtor feels pretty confident that it will still be on the market in a month or so. At that time, we'll make an offer contingent on selling our current house. That way we also have first right of refusal if they receive another offer before ours sells.
So, while "nesting" for baby, we are finishing up the last of our projects (the deck, changing all the switches and outlets to white, etc etc) and packing up half our stuff to store and declutter the house.
If this other house sells before then, we will just stay in our house, no big deal. Otherwise, we are ready to go.
Good thing is I definitely have DH on board for a cleaning service while house is on the market. And our area is pretty relaxed and people give good notice for showings, etc. so if I am home with baby, we can just go for a walk. Hopefully it won't be too terrible. But we are still crazy.
The thing is, if this actually works out, we will also be able to pay off all my student loans at the same time and make our mortgage our only debt, so the possible advantages are AWESOME. It's just still kinda a long shot!

my brother and SIL just sold their house with a closing date of April 25th and she is due March 22nd! my DH's sister and BIL just bought a house closing on March 20th and she is due July. So it's definitely not that crazy!
Best of luck!! We are house shopping right now, with the hopes of being out of this apartment and getting the apartment clean enough to get our deposit back before this baby comes. It seems like a long way away, we have six months, but it still feels like we will be cutting it close.
I really hope this works out for you guys!!
