really? even Sunday comics would do for wrapping paper for a 3 yr old
i have had no contact with my mil for almost 7 months now...and she still manages to piss me off. Latest is B's birthday gift - she asked John for a list - so I provided 3 Thomas items from amazon that he would love. She decided to get him the slippers...in two colors since the sneakers she got him for Christmas were too big (umm, no he's been wearing them since, he's be fitted for shoes and I am his mother I think I KNOW what size shoes he wears) so the blue one he wanted she bought in the size he grew out of and red ones in the next size....her comments to John was - well if he grows out of them soon then Connor can have them. You're spening $25 on him for HIS birthday, he should not have to SHARE his gifts....but the kicker is - she gave him the slippers in the brown box it was shipped in, opened and not wrapped. Would it have killed you to use the Sunday comics - since you get the paper delivered...no wonder he came home & I tried to get him excited about the red ones & he asked for the blue ones and then just walked off...and she wonders why he didn't call her by any name....
Re: really? even Sunday comics would do for wrapping paper for a 3 yr old
I remember my mom wrapping a gift in comics with bandaids once. I was so scarred that I always have way too much wrapping paper and tape in my house as an adult.
As for your OP...yes, she should have made some sort of an effort to wrap it. At the very least, pick up a bag at the $ store!
She's a piece of work, lol.
But I thought you weren't talking to her?
I have to LOL at your reference of using Sunday comics to wrap gifts. My mom has done that for my entire life!!!!!!!!! Every gift she ever got me or anyone else (and now my kids) is wrapped in Sunday comics. Then again my parents are pretty poor so I guess she can't really afford wrapping paper!!
I remember a few posts about your MIL and she sounds like a tool regardless of wrapping paper though.

I can't stand when people do this...they're children, wrap the gift! They LOVE opening it! And get the size the mom says! Geez, I don't get why people can't listen.
did she get them on amazon? you can return the too small ones and get the right size amazon is great for looking things up- that happened with something my brother ordered for Kieran a few times-
but yes, wrap it, in anything really-
