Re: leappad owners

  • I don't remember. I did buy a bundle so it came with something.

But honestly, if you're buying it for your 2 year old, don't, it would be a waste.

Why do you say that?  We were thinking of getting it for her birthday.  I realize she won't get much learning out of it, but she loves the computer and playing with it at the store so I was hoping we could use it as a treat to keep her in the stroller.

I agree with Deb.  The games are kinda hard for a 2 year old.  Abby can do some more games at 3.

  • a lot of the games are hard and 4 year olds can't get a lot of them

  • the twins are 2y7mo and it's too hard for them- and they are GREAT on the iPad... but the LeapPad is just a bit harder.  Griffin does awesome on it - but we still need to help him out sometimes (and he's about to turn 5).
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I think it really depends on your child. My just turned 5 year old got his for Christmas and he loves it..he has Leap School, Pet Pals 2, and the Pixar game. He does great with it. My 2 year old loves Artist Studio which might have been a free app we downloaded. It's the only game she can play on there, along with the camera function but she likes it a lot. They tend to fight over it whenever someone starts to play. We'll probably get her one for her 3rd bday. To answer your question, when the LeapPad first came out, it came in a bundle with Mr. Pencil. You might get a couple free apps included but I don't think they have the bundle anymore.
