Kohl's Charge Customers? Pros/Cons Needed

Do you really save that much money?

We are contemplating signing up for one, but not sure if it's really worth it.

TIA!

Re: Kohl's Charge Customers? Pros/Cons Needed

  • Since we do a lot of shopping there then yes, we save with the discounts and the kohls cash. Now if you only shop there couple times a year then I would say no.
  • I save money.  I usually wait to shop until I get a 30% off.

  • It's worth it, especially if you think you'd spend more than $600 in a year.  If so, then you receive their gold card and receive even more discounts. If you refuse to carry a balance from month to month, there really isn't a con, unless you're concerned about opening a new credit card and having a small ding to your credit.

Kohl's is one store where I refuse to buy anything unless I have an additional discount code/coupon.  I receive more of those by having a Kohl's charge.  I've heard crazy stories about people saving like $200 in a Dyson by having a 30% off coupon + Kohl's cash.

  • I love getting 30% off and the Kohl's cash is a nice feature too, which they do often now.  I feel like I save a lot, I shop there quite a bit for household items, kids clothes and sometimes for myself or DH.
  • Yes. I used to get a lot of coupons anyway and anyone can get the Kohls cash when you spend at least $50. But when I use my charge I almost always get an extra 15% off with each purchase. You can also pay it off right there if you want so sometimes I use my card to get the discount but then pay it off right away.
  • It's totally worth it.  As long as you never carry a balance.  Pay that sucker off in full every.single.time.

  • Totally worth it if you or someone you know gets the 30% off coupons when they send coupons out...I've never gotten one I don't think, usually only 15 or 20% but my aunt gets a 30% off almost all the time, so I just use hers.  :)
  • It's totally worth it for the 30% off coupon, which I seem to get every 3 months or so. Also, they let you pay your balance at the register. So, if you pay with your card, you can immediately write them a check for the same amount to pay off the card. It's a little annoying, but worth doing for the 30% coupon. This weekend they had the kids jumping bean clothes on sale for $5.49, and with the 30% off coupon they were $3.84. My kid is now set for the summer! :)

  • You guys are making me want to get one.  I refuse to pay full price for anything at kohl's.
