I have a tassimo I loved, but it has given up the ghost and I'm not sure it's worth repairing since they are making fewer and fewer options for it. I am looking at a Keurig, but somehow I remember thinking it made watery coffee. Was I just trying a bad kcup? I'd love some feedback! Also, if you use the refillable cup, do you like it?
Re: Keurig ladies?
I absolutely love my Keurig and think it makes a great cup of coffee. That said, I'm not a real coffee whore, so I don't know if it's watery. They aren't a Starbucks but they meet my needs.
Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!
I love my Keurig, have been using it for years. Some coffee's are weaker than others. I just tried the new Starbucks one and it is really good and I'm not even a big Starbucks fan, there are coffees out there that are too strong for me too and I like pretty strong coffee. It is just finding the ones that you like. I buy my coffee at Costco or Amazon and it's fairly cheap. We are big fans!
We do have a regular coffee maker and on weekends or dinner parties we will make a pot of Tully's or the like but that's mostly for convenience. I love having the Keurig and I have even started having some decaf around and hot chocolate and having a cup at night which is really nice.
We had a Tassimo and because of the fewer and fewer options, got a Keurig back in November. I don't drink coffee, but do drink teas and have never felt they are weak. DH hasn't complained about the coffee either. There are so many different brands of k-cups though, that I'm sure you could find one you like. I know we always get the bold k-cups when FIL will be in town since he likes his very strong.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but my DH is and loves strong coffee. I bought him a Keurig last year and honestly it's not doing so great after a year of daily+ use. I'm sure it cut down on our Starbucks bill by at least $100, but we always use the refillable filter and add our own coffee and recently it's been getting less and less strong. Maybe we need to change out the water filter or something, but it takes longer to brew and isn't as strong as a year ago.
We've always used re-usable gold filters for coffee makers, so cleaning it out daily is no different from that and part of the norm for us.
Are you united with the CCOKCs?
I don't know the altitude of MT, but is it higher than Denver? If so the water isn't getting as hot or maybe the heating element is going out.
I've had Keurig coffee at sea level and it was good. I've had it here and it was definitely watery. But I know the machine at sea level was barely used.
