Hi everyone! I've lurked for a few months and finally created an account, so I just wanted to say a quick hello! I got married last year and my husband and I have been looking for a house since October (nothing yet, ugh). Hoping we'll find something once Spring arrives and more houses are put on the market.
Also, I wanted to say thank you to many of you, because I got a lot of great ideas and recipes from your posts during my lurking days. I probably won't be a hardcore poster, but I figured an introduction would be nice. :-)

I feel like we're looking all over... pretty much anywhere inside of and along the 287-24-GSP triangle/square/whatever shape it looks like, as long as it has good schools, is near a train station, and isn't too congested.
Did you know your house was "the one" when you saw it for the first time? We've found a couple that we really liked but that were missing some crucial elements (a dining room, central air, more than 1 bathroom) and we can't help but wonder if those things should really be deal breakers for us.
I agree! While home prices seem to be pretty good, the condition and appearance of a lot of the houses we've seen is ridiculous. It's like some people just stopped maintaining their homes and others just haven't realized we moved out of the 80's (or even 70's). Unfortunately, my husband and I don't have tons of extra money to do crazy renovations for either scenario.
I understand your frustration becasue we literally looked in 10 different towns and everyone thought we were crazy. We did see a few that we were considering but then we found this one and we fell in LOVE the second we walked in the door. Even the paint color was our style. We did compromise because this does not have a garage but it has a huge basement. I would think of what you can live without comfortably and compromise on that. We needed more than 1 bathroom because we only had 1 in our condo and it was annoying in the morning but the garage was not a deal breaker but would have been nice. Good Luck with your search!
Hi! We are going through the same thing. I understand your frustration. I'm getting really impatient! We've been looking since October as well, but only in one town. We've seen many homes and the charm of going out to look has worn off. I've seen them all and we are waiting for new listings at this point. People need to start putting their homes up for sale...it seems like there are quite a few of us waiting, lol!!
