Vampire Hunter?!!?
Let me say the audience's reaction to this trailer yesterday was far and away better than the movie could ever possibly be.
ETA: Ok, so it's based on a book which is supposedly based on real journals of Abraham Lincoln who supposedly really DID believe vampires existed and hunted them?!!? Now I'm losing my mind. Can you imagine in today's technology age, what would happen to someone's chances for the white house if it suddenly came out that they believed in vampires. Of course, I do want to read the book now.

2014 Reading Goal: 85
Now that I know it's based on something real and not just Tim Burton being on crack one night, I'm definitely more intrigued than when I first saw the trailer yesterday and when I first posted this a little while ago. I just ordered the book off Amazon because all the reviews were really good. If it's actually good, I may end up going to see it.

The book's fiction. It's like a "mockumentary" a la Best in Show
When I say "based on something real" I do mean based on a book, not based on real life events.
Ok, whew!
After hearing the title, I hadn't given it a second thought.
Now I'm intrigued. The book will go on my Amazon wishlist.

I've read it. I first read Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, which I enjoyed so much I ventured into this one.
It's decent. I was fairly impressed with how well he transfigured P&P into a zombie story while still retaining its original charm and general storyline. Thus I think he did a decent job with this story which isn't based on something so widely read as P&P (which had the draw of people wanting to re-read the timeless story with some zombies sprinkled in).
That said, I'm VERY excited to see the movie, which I feel will be one of those instances where cinema will improve upon the literature.
Although if Stephanie Meyer really did want to write a 5th Twilight book, now I think she should somehow work it so that it's discovered that Abe turned into a vampire and Bella dumps Edward for him.
