Phone thoughts..

I've fixed my Droid X phone since it was having issues this last night/this morning. I am eligible for an upgrade starting next month. I've had the Droid X for 2 years and have wanted an Iphone but now am not so sure. I do love Google. So now I am torn as to what I want.

What phone do you have and would you recommend it?

Re: Phone thoughts..

  • I just upgraded my phone a few months ago from a POS old Blackberry to the Samsung Galaxy SII. I love it so far, it's really easy to use and had everything I was looking for in a phone and more. I have also always had really good experience with Samsung products. My only complaint is that it is a little bit big.

I was originally looking into an iPhone but everyone I know who has one has a lot of problems with dropping calls/bad reception, so I decided against it.

  • I have the Samsung Galaxy Vibrant.  Love it, love it.  It's a tad large, but does everything very well.

  • As much as people are gaga for the iphone, it wouldn't be for me either. I say go with the samsung galaxy as well. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

  • I just got my Iphone last week. It's a pain in the butt to start off, but after you learn it, it's pretty easy. Nate loves his, so he talked me into getting one. It's a good size too. All the Droids I was looking at seemed HUGE.

As far as dropping calls and whatnot, I think that would depend on your provider, not the type of phone you have, IMO.

    Good luck!

  • I have had my iphone for  a little over a year. I have no complaints. I think dropped calls would be more of a provider issue than a phone issue. I really love my phone. It took me a little bit to get use to but thats with any phone I think.

  • I also have an Iphone, and love it. I don't really have issues with dropped calls.  I do live in east gish, so there are times where I don't have the best reception, but I had that with other phones at my house too.  To me it comes down to provider and not necessarily phone as well.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

  • The reason I didn't think it was just the provider is because I have AT&T and so does my sister. My phone works fine in my house and her iPhone doesn't work at my house at all. Same goes for J's BF who has an iphone and he's on AT&T as well.

  • I have an iPhone and I love it. I've never had an issue with dropped calls and I have AT&T too.

  • I'm among the minority here and will never buy an iPhone. Only because I like to go against the crowd. I have nothing against the phone. I have an Xperia play. I love it. It does pretty much everything I can think of including play playstation games. Instead of having a keyboard when you slide it open it is a ps3 controller. It does everything and it's awesome!
  • Another iPhone lover here too. Even though I have to same problems as bailey. I have AT&T and I lose service and drop calls when other people with the same phone/provider aren't. It's weird. I just write it off as being a problem that can happen with any phone or provider. I do love my phone so it's ok with me when it happens.

  • I know I'm a bit late to this post....  I too have an iPhone.  It is actually my second one.  The 3GS was provided to me by my office at my last job, and I had to give it up when I left the job.  I had a blackberry curve for about a year, and now I have the 4S.  I absolutely love how easy the technology is to use on the iPhone.  B had a Samsung moment previously, which he hated, and he now has an iPhone too and loves it.  The one bad thing I will say on the iPhone is that I don't find the 4S to be that much better than the 3GS.  I'm on Sprint, so I didn't have access to all the older models, but if I did, I might buy one of the cheaper ones rather than the newest one.
