  • The first day back was the hardest for me. It was really hard to prepare for emotionally. The morning I left for work Edmund gave me this look of where the heck are you going. I felt so guilty about it. I called home whenever I got a chance to check on him. Try not to worry to much although it's easier said than done. Just make sure that whoever is taking care of her has all her normal comfort items, knows what and where she likes to be, what sounds she likes.

  • Just take it easy! The first week was really hard, I had a ton of guilt leaving DS at a daycare. It took me a few days to get into the swing of things without being too distracted. I also promptly put a picture on my desktop background of DS so I could just stare at it if I wanted to.

Good luck! I'm sure it will be great!

  • Do you have to go back full-time right away, or can you ease back in?

  • AGH! I wish I'd seen this yesterday!

Tips? Not really. I just kind of held my nose and jumped in. I had to give M a quick kiss when I left her with the nanny, and DH and I ran. We both cried on the way to work. It was horrible, I'm not going to lie.

It gets easier, but you always worry about not being there. It helps that my nanny texts me and sends me pictures - can your caregiver do that for you?

*hugs* It sucks and it's hard, but it will get easier, I promise. Work is a good distraction from the sadness of not being with your baby, so I just focus on work for the most part.

    Good luck!
