moms- this is his fever right?

Kieran had 102.5 fever off and on yesterday, complained of ear pain and he has an ear infection. His fever was not that high today, but still hanging around. just now, he woke up crying and freaking out that he was hot, he was soaked- I had to change him. Now, he is crying he is cold- i just gave him some more advil, and he has had 2 doses of the antibiotics. Is this the fever breaking? he did not feel feverish, but he had tylenol almost 4 hours ago so it could still be working-

thanks!

Re: moms- this is his fever right?

  • I'd attribute it to the fever. I'd tuck him in and check on him in the middle of the night. Usually when my kids sweat like that, their fever usually breaks not soon after.
  • I thought once you started sweating like that your fever was breaking.  Or is that an old wives tale - not sure.
