I feel like I've asked this before, but I think we're really, really ready to paint this time! Any suggestions, other than Gerst? Also, what's a good way to determine if it's a good deal? I've heard arguments for and against hourly painters. We just have white walls in our (2 y/o) new construction home.
(We have nothing against Gerst, just that I already know they are the "Cadillac" of painters and we're more of a Honda household!)
Re: Painter recommendations
Mike is fabulous!!
I hired a guy named Josh who came with another guy after work. The did FABULOUS! They were quick, clean, and decent guys to chat with (since we were usually in the area eating, etc). His number is 402-215-6768. Tell him I sent you. I got his number from my neighbor behind me who is a friend of his.
I got a quote from a pro painter that was about 900 which included putting a second coat on one wall, and 2 coats on another (I had done it myself a while back and never finished the second coat on one of the walls). When Josh came to quote me, he quoted me $250 for 2 coats on ALL 4 walls (i decided if I was hiring a painter I might as well change all the wall colors). This also included painting the hallway which the other guy didn't even include in the quote! (FYI it was $220 for the room with vaulted ceilings and ONLY $30 for the hallway which was WAY worth paying so I didn't have to trim around 5 doors!).
