Grief counselor recs in central jersey

Any recommendations? Things remain the same (same condition from talking to her hubby) but I am having a horribly difficult time and she is still 'here'. I can't sleep, I don't want to do anything...and when I do sleep I have these terrible dreams.

I don't want to sink into a depression (I can feel it) and I am on Zoloft...Samantha WOULD NOT WANT THAT for me. I am doing my best to think of the good times but I sit here on edge, worrying that she is suffering in hospice, worrying when her time will come.

Thanks in advance. Sorry for going on and on.

You will forever be my best friend. I can almost feel our hugs. I will ensure everyone will know (now and in the future) what a genuine, kind, loving person you were...I already miss your laughter and our daily conversations. I love you, Samantha. May 20, 1983- February 20, 2012

  • I do not have any recommendations for you, but gosh I am so sorry you are going through this.  *hugs*

  • I cannot remember her name off the top of my head since it's been almost 4 years but the counselor who worked with our family through my mom's illness was wonderful.   She was part of the Haven Hospice at JFK.   All the staff there were wonderful.   Maybe if you give them call, they might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Thank you. I will check around and call if I can't find something closer.

  • I used to go to a bereavement group at bayshore hospital in hazlet. it was once per week (wed. night) and was helpful. i just googled it and found this - which may help you find one closer to you. (not sure where you are located). http://www.griefspeaks.com/id45.html I just saw your more recent post and I am so sorry for your loss. It looks like the 2 of you had a very special friendship.
