What's everyone giving up for lent this year?
Anyone going to any Mardi Gras celebrations tonight?
Re: Fat Tuesday
Haven't even thought about it! But I know for sure that once baby comes and I'm cleared to work out I'm definitely starting!
Don't have any Mardi Gras plans tonight as I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and am praying to God that I haven't gained any more weight!

@Mel, if you ended up gaining weight, shrug and blame it on Fat Tuesday!! How is that for timing!
Good luck at your appt!
I am making blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon tonight for Fat Tuesday. That was always our tradition growing up. Can't wait
I love having breakfast for dinner!! Is anyone else doing that?
As for Lent, I think I'm going to do what I do every year...try to attend Mass every Sunday of Lent. I don't go every week, and I feel badly about it. I might give up something too, I just haven't decided. I should give up carbs and sweets since my weight isn't BUDGING!!! UGHHHH
I am going to give up breakfast burritos. I have a bad habit of going to the cafe' across the street from the office once a week to get one. It will help save some money and calories.
I think I am also going to try to give up candy. I don't eat a lot of it, but more than I should. I guess that means I need to get rid of all the candy in my drawer.
Don't really have any plans for tonight. There is a big parade downtown that I have never been to and thought about going to, but I dunno.
You should make your own at home! You can freeze them and heat them up in the morning. It'll be a lot cheaper and healthy since you control what goes in them.
I'm not giving up anything. I've had to give up too much with this pregnancy and I just don't feel like extending it any longer. My only plans for tonight are to watch the rest of The Bachelor (I gave up and went to bed at 9pm), eat dinner and watch NCIS.
It's definitely fat tuesday on my end! I'm eating like I'm on vacation!!! :-/ They're having a one-month-early customer appreciation week at work so the other auditor and myself went over to the closest branch and had hot dogs and popcorn for lunch. On top of the 1.5 paczkis on my desk!!!!
I was nice and went to this coffeehouse to get a dozen to bring back for my "2nd family." I cut the 3 different flavors in half so I could have each flavor without eating 3 items. LOL! There are 3 left in the box.....so this means I don't have to take any home!
Mike won't eat one, and Amanda isn't supposed to have sugar.
No Mardi Gras celebrations here. I'm going to go home and keep working on my Plan B's for next week. And for Lent I'm giving up negativity. I always have to make my mother understand that it doesn't always have to be food!!!
Tonight we are making pancakes and feasting like Kings and Queens!
DH and I have been talking about what we're going to do for Lent - what we'll give up and what we'll give back as well. I am going to stop eating out when at work, which is going to force me to make my lunches. I have a tendency to overindulge on fast food when I'm working longer than four hours, several times a week. I have been teetering back and forth on whether I also want to give back to myself and others by attempting to be in bed 8.5 hours before I have to be awake the next morning, giving myself somewhere around 8 hours of sleep a night. If I do this, I'll have the opportunity to be more proactive during my awake time instead of feeling like I always want to take a nap. It'll require I cut a lot of unnecessary Facebook and TV time out of my life, but I think that's probably going to be for the best, as well.

I SO wish I could pig out today, but I am just so stressed out at work that I can't even stomach lunch today
So much for my fat Tuesday!
My Lent goal is to spend 1 hr a day writing my PhD thesis so that I can graduate and move up to San Francisco (where my DH is currently working).

We have no plans tonight. Not even sure what/if I will be cooking anything. I went and worked out last night, and it felt really good, but I am SO out of shape already! So, tonight I am hoping to ride my exercise bike while I watch the Biggest Loser.
For Lent, I am not going to give up anything extra since I am already limited with the pregnancy to "fun" things.

"Eating like a fat kid" - i've been doing it since September and honestly the thought of not going on a diet stresses me out more than going on one. I cannot continue this weight gain thru May or I'll be over 50 - 60lbs by then. NO THANK YOU. this has been out of control and needs to stop. i'm a roller coaster gainer - and i'm at the "i can't take it any more" phase - which is a good thing. I know i'm supposed to be gaining but i just need to cut the crap out and cut portion sizes.
so far so good - lunch out to eat w/ girlfriends - steak tip salad w/ vinaigrette dressing NO FRENCH FRIES.
9 Glorious Months!
