Talk to me about recovery after illness
A few days after my first half marathon in January I came down with a really bad flu. I didn't run at all for almost two weeks, and yesterday I ran for the first time...I made it just over a mile, with two walk breaks. I know I'm still recovering - I'm still really tired, have a little cough, etc. - but yesterday was seriously discouraging.
I'm signed up for my next half at the end of March. I have no need to PR there - it is a local race that I love and I'm running just to run on my favorite trails. But I don't know if I can even make it at all, at any pace.
Any tales of encouragement of bouncing back quickly?
Jack Donovan, b. Christmas Eve, 2009.
