Re: motzie

  • Anytime, lol. I'm not sure who cousin vicki is (because I'm bad at that) but I think she's a reg under a new name. Although I really don't know.

  • I didn't know you were a model!  Whenever I see pictures of you I always think that you look like you should be a model.  I guess I knew it without officially knowing it!

  • Thanks Mort. It's not something I generally announce. I don't mind people knowing, it's just usually hard for it to come out without me feeling like I'm, "oh hiiiiiii, did you know I used to be a model?'" :::flips hair:::

I made it until my senior year in college before everyone in my program found out. I've been at work a year and no one here knows. It was a good time in my life, it just feels like a million years ago now.

  • I'm so sorry Motzie!! I really thought it was out there. I feel bad. Sad

Omg, no no no! Please don't feel bad. I know a lot of TIPers know. I don't think any MLers really know anything about me. I was going to post Gisele stories a few weeks ago when that discussion was going on, but then I chickened out. It's really not a secret, I just find it awkward to bring up, I don't know why.

  • Now I'm curious about what you modeled. LOL

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to sound creepy in my last response. After re-reading it I realized it sounded creepy. And I absolutely don't expect you to say what you modeled!

A lot of different things. I did mostly editorial (magazines) and runway. You know, they stuff that doesn't pay anything. I did some campaigns for a few French companies, department stores, advertising. I did some ads for Moschino, including some sunglass ones that ended up in stores all over Europe and the US.

I lived mostly between NY and Paris, but spent time in London for a few months, and a month in Japan, and traveled in spring and fall to do shows.

UNDERWEAR! I modeled underwear. GOD! Creep!

j/k I did actually do an ad for Aubade once. It was cute. I wish I had a copy but I gave it to XH when it came out. dammit.

  • Giselle stories, if you please!!!

     :)

I think I told you this before, but I knew you were a model like way before I 'knew' you or knew what you looked like.  I was totally like, yeah sure you're a 'model', probably did like a print ad that ran in the local pennysaver or something.  But then I got to know you and saw what you look like, and I was like, no, she's a MODEL model.

So I totally get where you're coming from. lol.

  • That's pretty cool that you got that opportunity.  Something cool to show/tell your kids someday too.

     :)

    Nothing very exciting, unfortunately.

#1 - At a show for in Paris Yves Saint Laurent she was getting her makeup done next to me. Her little dog was running all over the place. XH was visiting and was sitting backstage somewhere was b!tching about "who was that ugly horseface girl and why does her stupid azz dog get to run loose all over the place?!"  I was like, um, that's Gisele, she can do whatever the eff she wants. Which brings me to story #2...

#2 - Back stage at another show, this time in NY. After the show everyone was getting dressed and saying their goodbyes. Lots of times you would get to keep your shoes from the show, since they had so many pairs of the same show and they were already worn, most designers just let you take them. Well, Gisele didn't like her shoes, but she liked one of the pairs that I wore. So she took them. B!tch.

So, I take it she wasn't the friendly type?

That's so cool.  I think she's gorgeous, but I actually think Alessandra Ambrosio (sp?) is the most gorgeous model ever.    Not a big Tom Brady fan though.

    Did you like modeling?

     Did you like modeling?

For the most part, yes. It's tough because you're always being poked and prodded and told where to go and what to do. It was hard for me to settle down and ever feel like I had a home. In general, it was a pretty cool experience for those years.
