So how was your long (for some of you) weekend? Did you do anything fun?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.
Re: Weekend update?
Nice, Passanie, congrats!
Had a pretty low-key weekend. Friday night we brought pizza over to our friends' place and just hung out with them. Saturday we went to a birthday dinner for another friend. Sunday we had my sister over for brunch, ran some errands, and then used up a Cheesecake Factory gc I've had forever to buy a cheesecake. We ended up bringing it over to my sister's house and we watched Real Steel together (the movie was cute).
Happy belated birthday!!
This weekend was for the most part-great. There was some friend drama we experienced.
Short story-we were not invited to a birthday party b/c another group of people were invited who we do not get along with (we are cordial but not friends anymore). So to save the "drama", we were not invited. Yah, fun times and we are in our 30's here.... I thought I was out of high school!??
In other great news-DH came home on Saturday. We caught up, went out to dinner and watched some shows. Sunday, we had some breakfast, caught up some more, did some laundry and headed to Monterey for an overnight stay!
It was glorious! Such a pretty place. We went to dinner at Schooners and spent quite a bit of $$ there but we figured we could enjoy it since we never go out like this.
Then we vegged in our room. Woke up early to see the sunrise and then headed home.
all in all a great weekend! Thank goodness for a short work week!
We went to Santa Cruz on Saturday and had a great day. We visited campus and I got all nostalgic. DH got his hands dirty with a friend, looking for salamanders in the redwoods while I sat on a bench in the sun in the middle of campus and finished The Hunger Games (fantastic book - actually looking forward to the movie). Then we went downtown to have lunch, visited my favorite bookstore, and then went to the park where we got engaged and looked for Monarch butterflies (couldn't find any). We ended the day with dinner at the restaurant we ate at before we got engaged. The food was awesome and, again, nostalgia.
On Sunday, we went up to Roseville to see family and DH (along with his brothers and dad) built a play structure for our nieces whose birthday is coming up. I scrapbooked with my MIL and BIL's girlfriend. Then we went to Davis with BIL, his gf, her sister and her bf, and ate dinner at my favorite Thai place. Another fun day.
On Monday, I had to do a bit of work from home in the morning, and then DH left for work around noon. I vegged for the rest of the afternoon, then went shopping and baked some muffins.
We woke up Saturday morning and DH asked "Want to go to Miami?" And I jokingly replied "Yes." He replied, "Let's go!" and we started packing for our Miami trip.
The five and half hour flight from San Fran to Miami was totally worth it.
Day 1 (Sat.):We had a great time at the beach, 80 degree weather, warm water and cold beers in our hands. Went to a nice dinner at BIN No.18, then went to the "W Hotel" for drinks, then we went dancing at Amnesia. So much fun! The people watching at this place was insane! LOL Felt like we were in an episode of Jersey Shore. LOL
Day 2 (Sun.): Went to the beach again, went shopping down Lincoln and Collins Avenue, went to dinner, then went dancing at NIkki Beach..music was great! They played a nice mash up of house, hip hop and 90's.
Day 3 (Mon): Layed out on the beach, went swimming, went shopping, ate dinner at an Asian Fusion restaurant (food was amazing), didn't go out dancing that night because we had to catch an early flight in the morning but we did go to a couple of lounges and had a few drinks then went back to our hotel room.
Day 4 (Tues.): Woke up at 5:30am (East coast time), dropped off the rental car, boarded our flight at 8:00 am eastern time, landed in San Francisco at 12:00pm, DH dropped me off at work at 1:00pm and worked my butt off til 8pm.
Best weekend ever. Love my DH!
