What are you giving up for Lent?

I'm not sure what to give up this year.  I gave up pop for a week and it wasn't a big deal, so I think I need something more challenging like giving up fast food or eating out for lunch.  Hmmm...

Re: What are you giving up for Lent?

  • Soda since I drink wayyyy too much.

We also add something each year vs just giving up.  This year we are donating to the food pantry each week.  We did nonperishable food items for Peyton's birthday this year and donated them to catholic social services and she enjoyed delivering the food so we will be doing that weekly during Lent this year.

  • I usually give up pop but have been pretty good about not drinking it and I don't eat that much fast food. I thought about making myself workout at least 4 times a week.

  • I'm going wheat-free for Lent, in part because I'm in the middle of reading the book Wheat Belly and it's freaking me out.  lol.

I should do this and wear a rubber band around my wrist and snap myself everytime I slip.  LOL!  :)

I think I should start doing something instead of giving something up...like go to the gym.  :)

Oh don't worry. I won't be able to do it either! And I might have to treat Sunday's as cheat day like people do when they give up some kind of food. :)

I picture you walking around the house all day on Sundays dropping the F bomb.

  • I'm going to give up being fat, complaining about being fat, and figure out how to be a runner with two small children during the winter, and run another half-marathon in May.

  • I am going to try to cut back on the swearing but sale week is usually my downfall. And for some reason when my bf and I are together (like 24/7 during sale week) our swearing gets even worse. Ugh. My main goal of this is because L is going to be repeating things soon and I would rather it not be the fbomb.

I like that 40 bags in 40 days. I think I may just try to make it my goal to get rid of the clutter that is bugging me and be done with it. I have no issue getting rid of the stuff, it's just time and our basement is the catch all. Then I forget to put it out for amvets.
