slow cookers....

I am in the market for a new slow cooker since my has a crack in it.
The only thing my DH said he would like to see it have is a Warm Setting.

What one do you have...do you like it....would you recommend it?

Thanks!

:)

Re: slow cookers....

  • I have this one (and a couple others), but I would definitely recommend this one:

  • This is mine (sorry so big).  No fancy bells and whistles, but I've had it for 5 years with no problems.  It's a Hamilton Beach with high, low and keep warm settings.

  • I don't remember the brand of mine but I do know that one thing that was a must-have for me was a timer.  I work and am gone for more than most recipe times call for.  So I set mine in the morning at the temperature and time and when 8 horus is up it automatically switches to the Warm setting.  Cannot.live.without.that.feature.

We have this one, too, and I love it.  Set it for 4, 6, 8, or 10 hours and walk away.  When time's up, it switches to warm.

I also have two Rivals that I like, although they're older, smaller, and only one has a "warm" function.

When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?

I usually just lurk here but wanted to say I just replaced my cracked one with this one and love it.  I got it at Target on sale for like $25 about a month ago.  It automatically turns to warm after the designed time setting is up (4, 6, 8 or 10hours).

I have this one and it works well, especially for the price.  However, if you're able to spend a bit more, I HIGHLY recommend the Cuisinart Multi-Cooker, which you can get at Williams-Sonoma and some other stores.  You can saute, warm, cook, and much more.  You can set specific times and temps.  My mom got it for me for Christmas and at first I kinda felt like it was overkill.  I've used it twice now and LOVE it.

  • I'm mainly a lurker here, but I also have the same crockpot that most of the others have mentioned and I love the timer function.  I really appreciate having the ability to throw stuff in before I leave in the morning and have warm dinner in the evening, except for a side.

  • I have that one too.  Slow cooking is new to me, but I love it!
