Favorite To-Do around Tampa Bay

So it's been so slow around here lately, and with this amazing weather, I thought we could spice things up with a post about your favorite "to-dos" on a beautiful day around Tampa Bay.

Favorite beach spot, an oldie-but-goodie restaurant, off the beaten bath trail, favorite event/festival, etc.

And... go....

  • The strawberry festival is starting soon. Wish I could go.

  • If you enjoy steak n cheese subs... a hidden little secret is Charann's on Hillsborough Ave, a block or two west of the expressway. They are amazing :)

Yes, first week of March.  I'm going to be out of town or I would like to catch a concert.

  • I have personally fallen in love with Ybor. Also, for the best Cuban sandwich north of miami: The Airport Variety Store across from the St Pete/Clearwater airport. So. Good.

Ybor is a pretty cool spot.  It's convenient for H and I to get there, so we often hit it up for dinner.  Plus his office is there.

The Ritz is a cool joint for a show, plus there are good, cheap restaurants.

I saw Sleigh Bells a few weeks ago there. I like the Ritz because I can take my camera. :) Going to see DKM, too. They have super awesome bands coming in the next few months.

  • Umm so many to list, especially food related.

I'm excited for Strawberry Festival, we go every year.  The strawberry ice cream is my favorite and I like the crafts.

B and I love a lot of the local delis around here.. Mott and Hester, Wright's (best sandwhiches and chocolate peanut butter cake), Datz

Pane Rustica is one of our favorites for lunch, it's a tuscan bakery.  My baby shower is going to be there and i'm psyched.  They have the best sandwiches and salads and flatbreads and gelato and.. you get the picture

On special occasions we will hit up Jackson's Bistro for brunch.  It's pricey but worth it and we love to sit outside on the water.  We go a few times a year.

West Park Bagel in Westchase.. most delicious chicken salad melt on a bagel

Miguel's on Kennedy.. my favorite mexican place.  Best sangria in the area - trust me, I'm pretty sure I've tried them all.

D-Lites on South Dale Mabry.. best sugar free fat free soft serve ice cream.  Love it.  Yogurt Mountain - best serve yourself froyo (north dale mabry but i think it's a chain)

Dubliner in South Tampa or Soho Tavern... our favorite places to go out where there are way less college students than MacD's and some of the other bars

I can't wait for one huge strawberry shortcake!!  Especially since I didn't make it to the fair this year to eat some of that delicious fried-goodness!

  • I love perusing the outdoor festivals.  They have them all the time in North Pinellas.  This morning it was nice to get out for a walk while it was nice and cool.  I also like checking out the trails at the parks.  There are some really good ones in Tampa.  Museums and historical places are another fav for us.  We have found several neat spots that are even free or really cheap like the Heritage Village in Largo.
