I am having a big party at our house for my husbands promotion. I'm stumped on what else to make for food for the crowd. It's a rather big crowd.
So far:
Sausage peppers and onions, ziti and meatballs, pasta salad, tossed green salad, fruit platter, tray of cookies.
Any other suggestions on what I can make? There will be people coming through out the day since it will depend what time their shift ends.
Thanks ladies. You are always a wealth of information here.
Re: House Party Food Ideas
I had a housewarming party back in october and I did a review of what I served and what people enjoyed most: http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/59229235.aspx
Pigs in a blanket (I use puff pastry sheets and mini franks) have always gone ridiculously fast at our parties. Deviled eggs usually go quick as well, which is good because obviously they can't sit out all day.
Chili with cornbread, and crockpot pulled pork with potato rolls on the side, were easy and inexpensive for me to make.
Our Christmas party included a lot of things in the above thread - plus macaroni and cheese, a shrimp ring from Shop Rite, and two party subs (one ham and cheese, one eggplant).
My mother always does a spiral ham and then has different types of rolls available for those who want to make sandwiches. You can also have sauce or pineapple slices on side.
I second small wraps or sandwiches. The ladies here said BJ's does awesome subs!
Mussuto's does a great 3-6 ft sub.
Since most of the stuff on your list, I would stick with other Italian type stuff. Maybe a Pasta Fagioli in the crockpot or stuffed strombolis (there are great ones on pinterest or Mussutos does them too)
a sandwich tray (egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad)
have rolls out if people want to make a meatball sandwich - parm cheese
veggie tray?
